Wooden Furniture Care Guide

Caring for Your Wooden Furniture

Because Great Furniture Deserves a Little Love

Your wooden furniture is built to last, but a little care goes a long way. Here’s how to keep it looking beautiful for years to come.

Cleaning Tips

🧽 Spills Happen! Wipe them up ASAP with a clean, dry cloth—no soaking.

🚫 Skip the Harsh Stuff – No cream cleaners, vinegar, lemon juice, or anything abrasive. They can strip the finish.

🛑 Beware of Sneaky Polishes – Some can degrade protective layers. Avoid silicone-based polishes, which build up and change the look over time.

💙 Denim Danger – Dark jeans and dyed fabrics can stain light wood, so be mindful when lounging!

🛠 For Bigger Oopsies – Scratches, chips, or stains? Call in the pros for restoration help.

Everyday Care

🐝 For Natural Wood (like oak or elm): Use a high-quality beeswax polish every three months. Apply along the grain, then buff with a soft cloth for a gorgeous glow.

💧 For Oiled Wood: Treat it with linseed oil every 3-4 months to prevent drying. Dispose of used cloths safely!

☀️ Sun Smarts: Wood changes colour with light exposure. Rotate decorations and, if you have an extendable dining table, expose the leaves occasionally to keep the tone even.

🔥 Heat & Water Protection: Wood isn’t a fan of hot cups, wet glasses, or chemicals. Always use coasters, placemats, and avoid rubber-based covers (they react with finishes).

🔪 Scratch Prevention: Cutlery, pens, and dragged crockery can leave marks—handle with care!

🪑 No Chair Acrobatics! Leaning back on two legs weakens joints, so sit properly to keep chairs sturdy.

Treat your furniture well, and it’ll reward you with timeless style and durability! Questions? We’re always happy to help.
